Eleftherios Manthos has been a professional Airbrush artist - Automotive painter for 20+ years
In 1997, he received a diploma on Preservation and Restoration of Archaeological findings as a result of completing his studies at his vocational school (4th Technical Vocational High School of Athens). He continued his studies alongside his father and mentor Theodoros Manthos studying classical drawing and Byzantine art (murals). He participated in many of his father's art projects in Greek orthodox temples.
In 2001, he bought his first airbrush and was amazed with the results of painting applications that the airbrush would offer.
Eleftherios continued working on different projects with the Hellenic Republic Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. He restored ancient icons and murals creating figures and backgrounds when ancient artwork was lost or damaged beyond repair.
Airbrushathens Studio was created in 2007 because of his passion for cars and motorcycles.
The same year, Eleftherios began participating in different exhibitions and events like The Athens Tuning show, Citroen DS3 art contest, and Dielpis Formula1 Art and Design which was held at the Hellenic car museum in Athens, Greece.
In March 2010 he attended the Airbrush Action Getaway Workshops and Seminars in Las Vegas. He successfully completed the workshops which were conducted by legendary artists such as Terry Hill, Edie Davis, Craig Frazer, Jeff Styles and Dru Blair.
With all those in mind, in 2013, he decided to move permanently to the UK. He started to create various artworks and paintjobs on motorcycle helmets, gas tanks and leather jackets.
In 2015-16 he won The Top Gun runner up award at the Kustom kulture blast of (KKBo) exhibiting as an artist and pinstriper with Airbrushathens.
In 2016 Eleftherios worked at the McLaren factory headquarter at Woking as a spray painter on the production line for 3 years during which he had an amazing experience with the state of art facilities and high end spray finish on brand new supercars like the McLaren 570s, 657LT, 720S, and McLaren Senna.
In 2019, Eleftherios dedicated himself to creating glass artwork, showcasing his artistic craftsmanship. In 2020, he began working as an automotive spray painter and restorer for a company specialising in the restoration and customisation of historic vehicles, with a focus on Jaguar E-Types. In 2023, he joined the Caterham 7 cars factory as a painter, a role he continues to excel in to this day.
